Senior Management John Mango, President John F. Mango is retired from the FDNY. Prior to his retirement, John worked in the High-Rise Unit in the Division of Fire Prevention. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. John founded Quality Fire-Protection Consultants Inc. in 1983. The company is responsible for assisting nearly 500 building owners and managing agents in complying with local fire codes.Christopher J. Steinmetz, Director, Chicago Office Christopher J. Steinmetz joined Quality Fire Protection Consultants Inc. in 2005 and was promoted to Director of the Chicago Office in January 2010. Chris started his emergency service career in 1999 as a Paramedic in Suburban Chicago. In February 2001, he began his career as a firefighter with the Chicago Fire Department and worked in Chicago’s “Uptown” neighborhood, assigned to one of the city’s busiest truck companies, until October 2005. Chris is currently assigned to a truck company in Chicago’s “Back of the Yards” neighborhood. Chris is responsible for all of the training content and services offered from our Chicago Office.
Anthony G. Mango, Esq., General Counsel Anthony Mango serves as General Counsel to Quality Fire-Protection Consultants, Inc. He has been an attorney in private practice since 1993. Anthony provides legal counsel to the management staff of Quality Fire-Protection, particularly in the areas of Local Law 5 and Local Law 26 and their applications in the New York City real estate industry. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Saint John’s University, as well as a JD from Saint John’s University School of Law.
Robert Pecora, Operations Manager Robert Pecora is the Operations Manager with Quality Fire-Protection Consultants Inc. Robert joined the staff of Quality Fire-Protection after retirement from the FDNY in 1990. While in the FDNY, he served as UFA delegate and was a member of the UFA Safety Committee. In his last year of fire service, Robert was part of the FDNY’s Fire Safety Education Unit. Robert was promoted to Operations Manager of Quality Fire-Protection Consultants in January 2000. He is now responsible for training, scheduling, and Fire Department compliance for all Quality Fire-Protection clients.
Thomas McMaster, Asst. Operations Manager Thomas J. McMaster joined Quality Fire-Protection Consultants Inc. in 1994 as a consultant. Prior to his employment at Quality Fire-Protection, Thomas was a member of the FDNY until his retirement in 1994. During the last two years he was with the FDNY, Thomas served in the Fire Safety Education Unit Speakers Bureau. Thomas was promoted to Assistant Operations Manager in 2002. He is responsible for handling clients’ Fire Department violations, the fire extinguisher portfolio, Building Department and Fire Department code inquiries, and overall customer relations.
William Gaffney, Director, EAP Unit As the Director of the Emergency Action Plan Unit, Bill is responsible for the overall coordination of Emergency Action Plan preparation, training, and drills to meet the requirements of Local Law 26 of 2004. He is a retired New York City fire officer who spent 20 years with the department, the last six as a Lieutenant. He holds a Masters degree in Education from Adelphi University and began teaching after his retirement in 2003. Bill was previously the Public Education Coordinator for the Long Island Poison and Drug Information Center and was an instructor for the New York City Fire Safety Education Program. Bill is a certified Fire Safety Director in New York City.
Joseph Russo, Assistant Director, EAP Unit Joseph F. Russo is the Assistant Director of the EAP Unit with Quality Fire-Protection Consultants. Prior to joining Quality Fire-Protection, Joe worked in the FDNY for 32 years, serving his last 5 years in the rank of Captain. He previously held the position of Director of the Fire Safety Engineering Program at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York. He also held the position of Life Safety Manager for J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Brooklyn College and has lectured on firefighting topics at numerous fire service seminars in the US and Canada. Joe also has had several articles published in WNYF and Fire Engineering magazines.Robert Mullin, Director, Quality Training Institute Robert J. Mullin is a retired New York City Fire Captain. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science from John Jay College in New York City. Bob has been with Quality Fire-Protection Consultants Inc. since 1989. He was instrumental in starting Quality Training Institute, which has trained Fire Safety Directors since 1990 and Emergency Action Plan Directors since 2005. |
